I just saw all the nice reviews about Marty, so I decided to give him a call since I needed to increase the travel on my door. On an early Saturday morning he answered my call, and rather than come out to my house, and charge me anything, or tell me I needed a spring replacement, he asked me a few simple questions about my door, and in a 5 minute, patient conversation, he walked me through each step of the simple process to increase the door travel range. Marty is worth all the honest praises he’s getting on Yelp. I will add his contact info and definitely use and refer him to anyone I know that needs a good garage repair/installer. We contacted Absolute Garage Doors based on their Yelp review. (We had contacted another company prior, but they had dropped the ball on our order! We placed an order with them, which they made us wait for 3 weeks- only to find out that they never ordered it at all!)

We had Marty remove our old garage door and install a new carriage door. He was prompt & courteous, offered us a reasonable price and got the job done. You might find a cheaper price elsewhere for a new garage door installation, but you won’t get Marty’s customer service or his attention to detail. I highly recommend him!!

A couple of months ago our garage door malfunctioned and it would not open. After calling several companies and getting quoted high prices, we felt comfortable with our phone conversation with Marty and arranged for him to service our garage door. Now here is my story… Sunday morning getting back from getting bagels and my garage door only partly opens. After my involvement, the sprocket to the motor flies off and I must get a new motor. The motor has not been repaired/replaced since I moved into my home in 2003, and the motor is a 2000 year model so I know a replacement was in the near future. But on a Sunday! I was worried I would have to leave my garage unsecured all night and even worse, take a day off of work to coordinate a repair.

I used yelp for the first time to research something other than food, and came upon Marty with Absolute Garage Doors. One phone call (he answered on a Sunday within a few rings), I explained I needed a new motor, and he quoted me a price. He gave me a timeframe that he would arrive at my house, and actually arrived timely within minutes of the stated start timeframe.. fantastic!

Marty explained everything about the install in detail as we chatted while he worked. Unlike most contractors, he is very personable and seemed to enjoy his work and discussing the repair/replacement. Upon completion his quoted price in our initial phone call was also the actual billing price, which is a definite positive. Marty even took the time to program my vehicles to open the garage door after he thoroughly cleaned up his work area.

I have plans to replace my garage door next, and Marty will be definitely who I call. I could not have had a better experience.

Marty Rocks!

I had a broken spring. He came out same day at the time he said he would. He not only replaced the springs, but he inspected the rest of my door and motor to make sure all is well. He found some additional things, bearings, cables, missing screws, that needed replacing/fixing and took care of it. He explained what and why he was doing things and showed me the worn parts.

In the end, my door is quieter and smoother than it was and the price was right. Marty is honest, thorough and he knows what he is doing. I will be calling him again, although he said I probably wouldn’t need to.

After researching several Garage door servicers on the internet, I contacted Absolute Garage Door. Marty gave me an estimate over the phone where other servicers gave me some long winded explanation on how technical it was to determine what type of spring replacement I would require. This review is long overdue. One day my garage in my 8-year old townhome stopped working. I called some company off yelp and the owner was out of town. Marty from Absolute Garage Doors was handling all his inquires.

I told Marty about my problem and fortunately he was able to stop by the same day. He looked at my garage door and quickly diagnosed the problem. He fixed my garage in less than 20 minutes and was on his way. A few days later, my garage door had more issues. I called Marty and again, he was able to come by in a few hours. Marty from Absolute Garage Doors is a real pro. Both of my garage door’s two main springs broke at 6:00pm on a Sunday. I called him on a neighbor’s recommendation, and he was more than happy to come out that evening. Marty was at my house an hour later, and did not even charge me extra for the Sunday evening service! Marty knew exactly what was wrong and exactly how to fix it. He put on a larger, safer spring than the cheap-skate contractor who was hired by my home’s builder put on originally. Marty explained to me how the safety features should work and tested it right in front of me. He’s also just a really nice guy and we talked about our motorcycles for a while, too. I now consider him to be “my garage door guy,” and will be recommending him to my neighbors and family.

We came home from out of town and couldn’t open our garage door. We realized that the spring broke and needed to get it fixed ASAP as we were also having issues without front door lock. We called Absolute Garage Doors and Marty answered right away and gave us a window which was only an hour after we called. He arrived, fixed the problem and was very nice. Definitely recommend him.

I was suspicious when I saw the 5 star rating but I must say it was deserved. Marty (owner operator) knew exactly what was wrong right away and went right to it. He came pretty much at the time he had promised on a Saturday with about a 4 hr warning. The problem was a broken cable that should have been replaced when the last guy had come in to replace the springs. The price was reasonable given it was a weekend and such short notice. My home insurance (First American) called 4 people and none wanted to come on a weekend.

My garage door in my new home in Ladera Ranch was installed too low for my SUV to access the garage. Several letters from my association over the past few years prompted me to fix the problem.

There is a hundred companies I could have called and I tried my luck with a few. One company showed up and the technician showed up in his personal car without a clipboard or something to write with. Bad sign. The second company I called showed up late and wanted me to pay a crazy amount of money. When everyone else said they could come until three days later Marty made it happen. He showed up on the same day and fixed my garage door for a beyond fair price. Awesome guy. Honest, quick, and great quality.

The motor on the garage door started smoking Thursday night, called him Friday late afternoon around 5pm and said he can come on Saturday around the same time. I got a call from Marty a little while later, and he said the owner of All Star Jim refers some of the business to him. Marty came around 7 pm and he finished the job around 9:30 pm, I commend him for his professionalism, although he didn’t know if I was going to ask him to do the job when he first came out, he still listened to me and what our needs were: price, quality of motor, and quality of work. He takes time to do each job well, which probably explains why he didn’t call me right at 6 pm, but I’m chill about that, as long as he does a good job, I don’t mind the time being a little flexible.

Anyhow, Marty did such an amazing job!!!! There’s an issue with how much space there is between the garage door and the beam in my garage, long story short, I wasn’t sure if a regular motor is doable. My dad originally had another guy come out who claimed that he CANNOT fit anything and had to use a jackshaft (a motor that goes on the side), not only was that expensive ($560) AND we had to reroute one of our pipes in the garage that’ll cost another $100. But as soon as Marty looked at our garage door, he said we could possibly fit a Liftmaster belt drive there, since it’s thinner than a Liftmaster Screw Drive Motor. I just really appreciated his honesty and work attitude, it never hurts to try, and we ended up fitting the motor in perfectly.

I saved closed to $200 just by letting Marty do the work – TRYING and SUCCEEDING in fitting in a regular motor (not a jackshaft). He says he loves what he does and I think that’s probably why he does an amazing job! I would totally recommend him to my friends and family.

I needed a new garage door opener. My brother in law knew Marty from Absolute and asked him to come by my home. Marty quoted me a price and came back later in the day and installed the unit. Gave me a good price, was clean and efficient. Would definitely recommend Marty and Absolute to others.
